Joshua Wenger is the
Assistant Choral Director at Lake Forest. He is a recent graduate
of Belmont University where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal
Music Education. Before his time at Belmont, Mr. Wenger grew up
on a farm in south central Pennsylvania. His love for music developed
from a young age and encouragement throughout high school led to passion
for passing on the love of music to the next generation. During
his time at Belmont, Mr. Wenger was an active member of the National
Association of Music Education (MENC) serving as Vice President and
President during his sophomore and junior years respectively.
Mr. Wenger also had the opportunity to sing with the Belmont Chorale
as well as the Belmont Chamber singers during his time there, getting
opportunities to travel and conduct his senior year in
Chamber Singers. This summer as well as the previous two have
been marked by music experiences including music camps in his hometown
as well as Shenandoah University. Last summer, he also attended
Dalcroze Eurythmics (a music education methodology) classes at the Juilliard
School. Aside from music Mr. Wenger was involved at a local church
in Nashville, working part-time with the youth and could be found out
throwing frisbee in his spare time.
