Outfit information for 2011-2012

Polo shirt and t-shirt

Singers casual outfits will be khaki pants and a black polo shirt or jeans and a t-shirt.  All students in Singers will be required to purchase both the black polo shirt and LF Singers t-shirt.  The cost for both the polo shirt and t-shirt is $25.00 total.  If you have not turned in your money for these shirts, I assume you already have them.

 

Ladies formal

The ladies formal outfit is a black dress seen to the right
(sleeveless in the picture).  They are not required to order black
shoes, but they should have a pair of black dress shoes. 

Because we are using a new dress, each girls has

an option of renting it for $40 this year or purchasing it to

keep for $65.  See the payment schedule below.

 

The choir department will be purchasing gold sashes for

them to borrow for performances in the spring.

 

Upon receiving the dress, you will be responsible for having it hemmed as necessary for the appropriate length.

 

 

Boys formal

Boys are also getting a new outfit.  They will be

Wearing all black with a gold tie.  This ensemble

is $40.  The shoes are an additional $35.  The total

for the boys outfit is $75 and will be theirs to keep.

We do have a few extra shoes and pants from

last year.  If you are interested in borrowing these

items, please let Mrs. Philip’s know as soon as

possible.  They will be loaned on a first come,

first serve basis as available.

 

 

Extra T-shirts and Sweatshirts

Mrs. Philip’s placed the order for t-shirts and sweatshirts yesterday.  She will place another order in late October/ early November.

Lee University Children’s Chorale Auditions
The chorale is under the direction of Sarah Phillips Burris who is also the general music educator at Hopewell Elementary School.  Mrs. Burris asks that students be prepared to sing the first verse of "America" which is often known as "My Country 'tis of Thee." Tuition is $100 for the semester, and parents are responsible for purchasing a uniform. Lee Children's Chorale will rehearse on Monday evenings from 6-7:30 in the Curtsinger Music Building beginning on September 12^th. Students may schedule an audition for the fall semester by calling the Lee University Vocal Department of Music at 423-614-8256. Auditions will be Saturday Sept. 3rd from 10-12am and Thursday September 8th from 4-6pm.  

 

Honor Choir Auditions

This is an awesome opportunity!  If selected, your child will have an opportunity to perform with approximately 200 other 7^th and 8^th grade students from across East Tennessee.  A tentative event schedule is below.  There is a $40 fee to cover the cost of music and registration.  This fee will be due to Ms. Wagner before fall break (October 14).  Checks should be made out to LFMS.

 

Honor Choir is an event offered to members of Lake Forest Singers first.  Those who audition and are chosen must be able to stay after school on Tuesdays from 3:45-5:30pm, September 20-November 15 (excluding Fall Break). 

 

This years event is November 18-19 in Chattanooga.  We will not be staying the night.  If selected, a parent or family member will be responsible for providing transportation and food.  The adult should plan on staying with the child at all times other than when the child is in rehearsal or performance.  Mrs. Philips or Mr. Wenger will be at all rehearsals and the performance.
